Congratulations! Your son/daughter is getting married. Being a part of such a special moment is exciting news. You’ll be surrounded by friends and family. It’ll be a full day and evening of speeches and photo ops galore. You’re going to want to look your best for this once in a lifetime event!
Botox® can make you look years-younger and alleviate aesthetic symptoms associated with pre-wedding stress. But, there’s a right -and a wrong- time to get Botox® before the big day. If you want to be the picture-perfect Mother of the Bride/Groom, you’ll have to plan ahead.
Although the procedure can be done in a short, in-office visit (often in less than 10-minutes) results from Botox® are not immediate. The age-defying injectable can take upwards of 5-7 days to begin seeing fine lines and wrinkles gradually fade away. Aside from that, you may experience slight swelling, redness, or bruising during that time.
Botox® is a neurotoxin that temporarily paralyzes the muscles by stopping communication between nerve receptors. A process that can take some time. Optimal results from Botox® can be seen approximately 2-weeks after your appointment.
Treatments can last anywhere from 3-6 months. The ideal window to have Botox® done before a big event would be between 2-weeks and 3-months prior. Ensure an optimal outcome without complications by selecting a trained professional such as myself for your Botox® injections. Otherwise, you may wind up with adverse side effects that could potentially ruin your event.
If you’ve never had Botox® treatments, doing it 4 months before the wedding will let you see if you like the new wrinkle free you. Some patients want more or less correction and doing it 4 or more months before means that you can decide what to do at the pre-wedding treatment. It’s sort of like doing a new hairstyle once before the wedding to see if you like it – better than doing it a few days before and then deciding Whoops – I liked the old do better!
Finally – a Mother/Father plus Bride trip to my office is a bonding experience! I strongly encourage younger women (and men) to take care of wrinkles before they become permanent. Limited Botox® for twenty-somethings is becoming very common.
I understand how valuable that pre-wedding time is. In most cases, consultations and Botox® treatments can be combined into a single visit for your convenience. Squeeze a trip to the office in between cake-tasting and dress shopping.
There’s no perfect age for Botox®. Treatments can be tailored to your individual needs. Whether you’d like to address mild crow’s feet or severe frown lines, I’ve got you covered. Getting Botox® before any big event can boost your self-confidence so you can let loose and enjoy yourself -instead of hiding from the photographer all night!
