Recovery Options

Following surgery, a number of alternatives are available to facilitate your recovery.

Options available include:

  • Home Recovery
  • Hospital Recovery
  • Private Duty Nursing – Hospital
  • Private Duty Nursing – Home/Hotel
  • Cosmetic Surgery Private Post Operative Retreat

Our Patient Counselor will work with you to put together the best plan for your needs, including combinations of the options above!

Home Recovery

This the most common alternative. It is very helpful to have someone with you, a friend or family member, for at least 24 hours, and for certain procedures, a few days longer. We provide comprehensive post operative recovery instructions, and are available for questions.

Hospital Recovery

We have made arrangements with St. Francis Memorial Hospital for discounted fees for one to two nights of hospital stay. This is highly recommended for facelifts and abdominoplasty surgery (tummy tuck). It is available for any of our surgeries.

Private Duty Nursing

We can make arrangements for private nursing at the hospital and for your home or hotel. We can make arrangements for transportation as well. The nurses that we work with have extensive experience in caring for plastic surgery patients, and are wonderful people.

Cosmetic Surgery Post Operative Private Retreat

The Post Operative Recovery Place is a lovely private retreat exclusively for post operative patients located in San Francisco. Run by Gwen Mancuso, she provides a complete post operative recovery alternative. Gwen can drop you off and pick you up for the surgery and for your post operative appointments. This is a very popular alternative for our out of town patients, and for patients who don’t want to impose on family members or friends. Gwen is not a nurse, and she does not provide nursing care – what she does provide is a caring supportive environment with lots of TLC!
