Digital Photographs are a wonderful way to communicate! The better the quality of the photograph, the better the communication. Below are instructions for taking and emailing photographs.
Position
See the examples below. Try and duplicate the orientation and the amount of your body that is shown in the picture.

Megapixels
Any digital camera purchased in the last two or three years is more than adequate for purposes of communication with Dr. Barnett. Anything greater than 2.5 megapixels is fine.
Lighting
The flash from your digital camera is generally acceptable. If the flash causes a bright spot that conceals the area of interest, try taking the photographs during the day with ambient light and the flash turned off.
Background
Try and put yourself in front of a plain painted wall when taking photographs. High gloss paint and wall covering tend to cause reflections from your camera’s flash.
If possible, follow the instructions that came with your camera to compress the photos before sending. This is not critical, but if you send uncompressed photos the size may be so large that your email provider will only let you send one photo with each email. It’s ok, we can look at lots of emails!
Send emails to abmd@drbarnett.com. Send the photos as an attachment, and include an explanation regarding your concerns. Dr. Barnett will review them and our Patient Care Coordinator will contact you to set up a telephone consultation with Dr. Barnett.
